Today I am reviewing our personal experience with the Fisher Price Meditation Mouse. While this toy is not dog related, it is zen related. Our boys just turned 3 and 5 years old and we’ve been using the Mediation Mouse for about a year and a half now. A lot of big feelings start cropping up around 2 years old. After the terrible twos, we get the three-nager and four-nado stages. If you feel like you’re in the trenches of toddlerhood, you’re not alone. Big feelings and explosive emotions are developmentally on track for our little ones.
Meditation Mouse has a removable and washable plush cover over an electronic unit that guides toddlers through various meditation exercises. There is also an option to light up the Mouse’s tummy for a gentle nightlight. There are different modes for day and night: daytime relaxation, bedtime routine, soothing night mode.
Our oldest loves the daytime guided stretching and breathing exercises which help him connect with his body when he’s feeling dysregulated. Our youngest loves the soothing mode with nightlight at night which helps lull him to sleep. They both use the bedtime routine to wind down after a busy day.
This toy has honestly been a game changer for us. By no means are our boys perfectly calm, zen little creatures but Meditation Mouse has given them tools and techniques to help them cope with those big feelings of toddlerhood: frustration, anger, sleep anxiety, etc. If you have a toddler that is having a hard time coping, the Meditation Mouse is definitely worth a shot.
